Our Menus
The USDA Child and Adult Food Program (CACFP) is a funding source for the nutritious meals Great Bay Kids provides daily. A breakfast and afternoon snack are served in all of our early childhood education programs. For those children who are with us for a full day or for kindergarten wrap around care, we also provide lunch. All of the meals meet USDA requirements and guidelines. The meals are served in the classrooms in a pleasant atmosphere in which the teacher sits with the children to encourage appropriate manners and conversation.
If your child has a food allergy or has special medical dietary needs, we must have a detailed "Special Meals Prescription Form" on file in our office that has been signed by you and your child's physician stating what must be excluded and why. If your child has a special dietary requirement due to religious or other philosophical beliefs, we will need a signed "Meal Substitution Letter" from the parent/guardian stating the exclusions and substitutions on file. When possible, we will make substitutions to the menu to meet the needs of your child based only on the above conditions (food allergies, religious or philosophical beliefs). The Program Director and Cook will meet with the parent/guardian of a child with special dietary needs as requested in order to work out a plan concerning food substitutions and who will be responsible for providing the food items.
*Please do not bring in any food for any reason unless prior arrangements have been made with your Program Director.
